On Friday June 30, Scone claimed their second win at the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, the prestigious tournament, one of the three Grand Slams of Polo, alongside the Argentine Open and the US Open, hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, set in Midhurst, England. The competition sees fifteen teams up to 22 goals, in participation.
Scone clashed against BP Polo in a leveled match, which reached a 8-all by half time. David Paradice’s lineup, who had Tomás Panelo subbing in for Adolfo Cambiaso, took the lead from the fourth chukka onwards, however the gap between the two teams was always very close. By the start of the last chukka, Scone had a two-goal advantage, but they managed to produce three more goals to earn a 14-11 victory.
The final of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup is due on Sunday July 23.
