The matchups of the quarter finals of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, the most significant tournament in England, have been unveiled, following the penalty shootout that took place on Thursday July 11, at Cowdray Park Polo Club, in Midhurst, West Sussex.

 

It is worth to remember that La Dolfina Great Oaks, Dubai, La Dolfina Murus Sanctus, Talandracas and Valhalla, were already qualified for the next stage.

 

Facundo Pieres (Black Bears), Jerónimo del Carril (La Magdeleine), Guillermo Caset (Marqués de Riscal), Juan Martín Zubía (Sujan Indian Tigers), Pablo MacDonough (King Power) and Cruz Heguy (Gaston) were in charge to convert the 60 yards penalties in the first round, with Black Bears and King Power victorious. Meanwhile, La Magdelaine went against Desert Palm (Barto Csatagnola) and UAE (Tommy Beresford), to decide the remaining team to play the quarters, and it was Desert Palm who claimed the last spot.

 

Therefore, the matchups for the quarter finals have the following order of play:

 

Saturday July 13

La Dolfina Great Oaks vs Desert Palm

Valhalla vs King Power

 

Sunday July 14

Dubai vs Black Bears 

Talandracas vs La Dolfina Murus Sanctus

 

The final of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup is due on Sunday July 21.
