Dubai, UAE, Scone, Great Oaks Les Lions, Marqués de Riscal, Park Place, Park Place Vaara and Talandracas have qualified for the upcoming quarter finals, due on Saturday July 9 and Sunday July 10, following the last league matches of the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, that saw Scone and Great Oaks Les Lions victorious, on Wednesday July 6. Cowdray Park Polo Club’s premier tournament, and the hightlight of the British season, sees fourteen teams up to 23 goals, compete.
Both games were played simultaneously, at 2pm. Scone – with Emily Johnson subbing in for David Paradice, but later, in the fourth chukka, she was replaced by Luis Aznar, broke Talandracas winning streak, and claimed a 7-5 victory. In the fourth chukka, Talandracas’ Hughes Carmignac filled in for Edouard Carmignac; meanwhile, Great Oaks Les Lions made a quick recovery from their surprising lost against Talandracas, and beat UAE 12-9. Beltrán Laulhé subbed in for Great Oaks’ Dillon Bacon in the fifth chukka.
