Dubai and La Magdeleine were victorious in the two games played on Sunday June 30 for the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, in Midhurst, West Sussex, England. The 2023 runner-up defeated King Power, and the French-based lineup claimed a win over Marqués de Riscal.

 

La Magdeleine and Marqués de Riscal met to play the day’s opening match. While the French lineup team searched for their first win after losing to Gaston, while Alejandro Aznar and Co. aimed to continue in the winning path. At the end of the day, La Magdeleine, led by Jero del Carril, took off in the second half, widening the gap that earned them a significant 10-7 win, in order to keep their hopes alive towards the quarter finals.

 

Up next, came the clash of the unbeaten between Dubai and King Power, who had previously defeated Sujan Indian Tigers and Black Bears, respectively. Dubai demonstrated to be a very solid foursome, commanded by an outstanding Beltrán Laulhé, who contributed a great deal to Dubai’s 13-9 victory, their second within the tournament.
