Black Bears were able to recover from their debut loss against UAE Polo, and defeated Monterosso 14-10, in the single match played for the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, on Monday July 3. The tournament is hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, set in Midhurst, West Sussex, England, and sees fifteen teams up to 22 goals, partake.

Led by Juan Martín Nero’s remarkable performance (he scored ten goals), Black Bears managed to remain in the lead thoroghout the six chukkas of play, while Monterosso stood on their tail. By the end of the penultimate chukka, Black Bears had a tight 11-10 lead; but Guy Schwarzenbach & Co. changed the story quickly in the last chukka. It is worth noting that the grounds at Cowdray Park Polo Club are indeed splendid; despite the match was played with much wind and some rains as well, the ground was always in perfect conditions.
