Black Hound and La Hache were victorious over La Ensenada and La Dolfina Colibrí, respectively, in the opening day of the 59th. Jockey Club Open for the Thei Polo Cup, that kicked off on Tuesday September 10, at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquerters, in Pilar. The prestigious tournament, that preceeds the Triple Crown, sees six teams up to 32 goals, partake.
In the first match, Black Hound claimed a significant 14-10 victory over La Ensenada, in a contest that had a very leveled first part, until the fourth chukka, when Black Hound took off, led by the brilliant performance delivered by Joaquín Pittaluga, the top scorer (he produced eight goals). Black Hound widened their advantage in the last three chukkas, that allowed them to earn their first victory. Up next, La Hache dominated the match and the scoreboard to defeat La Dolfina El Colibrí by an impressive 17-6, under the command of a brilliant Benjamín Panelo, who scored nine goals.

2pm: Scone vs. La Hache (Jockey Club San Isidro)
