Zedan defeated Clinova Scone 5-2.5 to secure a place in the quarter finals of the Bentley Emirates Silver Cup, part of the Gold Cup Series, the most important polo event in Asia and the Middle East. The match took place on Sunday, January 30, at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tournament sees seven teams, up to 18 goals, compete.
Zedan’s Gonzalo Ferrari was the first to score, giving his team the lead in the first chukka, an advantage they widened in the following period with a goal by Sultan Al Faisal (who subbed in for injured patron Amr Zedan). Clinova Scone fought back, but Zedan dominated the match, ultimately securing the win and a place in the semifinals.
Zedan will now play the winner of the quarter final between UAE Polo and Dubai Wolves by CAFU.
