The 24th. edition of the Open de France Barnes, the most significant tournament in France, kicked off on Wednesday August 4, at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, close to Paris, in France. The competition sees sixteen teams up to 16 goals partake.

Newcomers Battistoni and Octogone opened fire, in a much anticipated game. The contest was very leveled and hard fought; Battistone got off to a better start, until Octogone managed to make a comeback and took the lead. Within few minutes remaining seemed that the deal was said and done in favour of the white jerseys, but a penalty awarded to their contenders tied at 8-all to force an extra chukka. That’s when Manuel Elizalde succeed in converting a 30-yards penalty, to secure Battistoni a narrow 9-8 win.

The 124th. Open de France Barnes will resume on Thursday September 5, with the match between Animales and Eternal J, at 3pm (local time)
