The Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel Cup continued on Friday and Saturday in Sotogrande.  The tournament runs through to July 18, with the most important clubs in the area–Ayala, Santa María Polo Club and Dos Lunas–hosting the action. The Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel Cup sees eight teams, split into two levels (14-goal and 8-goal), compete. 

 

On Friday, Marqués de Riscal defeated Dos Lunas in the medium goal, while John Smith beat Hanumann in the low goal. On Saturday, locals Ayala took a 9.5-8 win over PX. Action continues on Sunday with three games.

 

This season marks a new era for polo in Sotogrande, with Ayala acting as the main host of the action. The club is supported by Minuto Siete, Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage Club, and Santa María Polo Club. This season promises to be a memorable one, running through to the end of August, the month when the high goal returns to Sotogrande.
