On Saturday August 12, Augustinus Bader claimed a narrow 4-3 win over Bal du Soleil and won the Ladies Polo Cup-Diane Barriere, the ladies tournament that forms part of the traditionsl Barriere Deauville Polo Cup, within the season at the Deauville International Polo Cup, set in Normandy, Northwest France. The lineup, commanded by 9-goaler Lia Salvo, not only finished the contest undefeated, but also retained the title they won in 2022.
The match, that kicked off with a scoreless first chukka, was very balanced, but Bar du Soleil put a tough challenge over the reigning champions, taking the lead in the two following chukkas. However, Augustinus Bader managed to bounce back in the last chukka. Following a tie in that last episode, and with only 17 seconds in regulation time, it was Lia Salvo who produced the goal that secured Augustinus Bader the win and the title for the second consecutive year.
The ninth edition of the Ladies Polo Cup-Diane Barriere, saw five teams up to 14 goals ladies handicap.
