Ayala Polo Club, in Sotogrande, Spain, hosted  the La Martina Test Match, that saw Argentina and Spain compete on Los Pinos Grounds. The game will have a rematch in Argentina, at Palermo. Spain had Pelayo Berazadi and Luis Domecq, winners of the last World Polo Championship, while four of the most promising players were within the Argentinian lineup – Pedro and Lorenzo Chavanne, alongside Rufino and Beltrán Laulhé.

 

Playing in front of fully packed grandsstands, Argentina, coached by Lolo Castagnola, overwhelmed the local team; the young Argentinian team displayed their formidable skills, and sealed the deal in the last chukka to claim an impressive 14-8 win.

 

The awards presentation was conducted in the Last Chukker Area; the Argentine Ambassador in Spain, Mr. Roberto Bosch, presented the trophy to the winners.
