The championship match of the medium goal Turkish Airlines Gold Cup was unveiled on Tuesday August 27, following the semifinals that took place at Ayala Polo Club, Los Pinos Grounds. Amanara and Electric Polo will compete for the last trophy of the 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía.

 

Amanara and Brunei played the first semifinal. Nicky Sen’s foursome remained in the lead, but Brunei managed to bounce back in the last chukkas. At one moment, many thought the match could need an extra chukka, but Lorenzo Chavanne sealed the deal and secured Amanara a 10-8 win and the ticket to their second consecutive final on Spanish soil.

 

The second game saw Electric Polo and John Smith, who clashed for the third time in Sotogrande. Both lineups played a very balanced and hard fought contest, until the sixth chukka, when Electric Polo made a comeback and seized the reins, leaving Gabriel Aguirre’s team hopeless. At the end of the day, Electic Polo were victorious 12-8, and qualified to the final.

 

Amanara and Electric Polo will clash for the title on Friday August 30 at 6,30om local time. It’s worth to note that the contest will be a rematch of the final of the 2023 Bronze Cup.
