The Tanoira Cup, which was celebrating its fifteenth edition this year, concluded at Cuatro Vientos, in General Rodríguez, on Thursday. The tournament saw twelve 14-goal teams compete, and came to a close with a spectacular final event.
Players, friends of the family, and special guests gathered to remember the great Gonzalo Tanoira and took part in a special prize giving ceremony where the teams received particular rewards. Among those in attendance were Alex Garrahan, Álvaro Pieres, Diego Ruiz Guiñazú, Diego Miguens—who was in charge of presenting the cup to champions Alazanas Foxi—and Luisa Miguens, who gifted a special edition of her book, Pasión y Gloria, to the Fair Play winner, Marco Baldocci.
Before the prize giving, Gonzalo’s son, Javier Tanoira, gave a heart felt speech remembering his father.
