The 16-goal Juan Carlos Harriott is hosted by the remarkable Coronel Suarez Polo Club, a place that equals glory and prestige within Argentine polo. Founded in 1929, Coronel Suarez has won the Argentine Open more than any other club – a total of 24 titles through 1934 and 1981. In 1958, Coronel Suarez joined forces with Los Indios to claim the most important polo tournament worldwide. In addition, Coronel Suarez has the privilege to be the first team in history to reach the perfect handicap. The legendary foursome composed of two pair of brothers, Juan Carlitos and Alfredo Harriott, and Alberto Pedro and Horacio Heguy, were rated at 40 goals, in 1974, an honor bestowed on only five teams.

Although Coronel Suarez does not currently in the main draw of the Argentine Open, the importance of the club is still significant, competing in tournaments like the República Argentina Cup, Miles Cup and Campaña del Desierto Cup. The club also hosts their own contests, like the Juan Carlos Harriott Cup, a poignant tribute to the man who played for the club for more than 20 years and is, up-to-date, the player who won the Argentine Open more than any other – a total of 20.

Agro Alarcia and La Mariana played the final, in a very leveled game that was decided in the last minutes of play, through a neckshot goal produced by Juan Cruz Araya. Agro Alarcia won 10-9 and won the Juan Carlos Harriott Cup. It’s worth to notice that all the members of the winning team were born in Coronel Suarez.
