The second edition of the Polo Nations Cup commenced on Thursday June 13 at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, in France, with double action – Lahore – Pakistán vs Rhone – Alpes – France and Italy vs Hamburg – Germany.

 

The opening game saw a Pakistani lineup, composed of H. Naseem 0, E. Venot 2 (1), H. Ruíz Guiñazu 3 (1) and J. Ruiz Guiñazu 7 (5) going to a strong start, earning considerable differences to defeat a tough French team, with  S. Aguetant 0 (1 goal), T. Ferrar 3 (0), G. Gelosi 4 (3) and S. Irastrorza 5 (2).

 

Score Lahore – Pakistán: 1-0, 2-1, 4-2, 6-5, 7-6.

MVP: Juan Ruiz Guiñazu.

 

The second match was played on Terrain 1 with the clash betweeen Hamburg-Germany and Italy. The former, made up of Heinrich Dumrath 4 (1 goal), Caeser Crasemann 4 (3), Caspar Crasemann 4 (3) and Daniel Crasemann 0 (0), dominated the five chukkas of play, but Italy -Ricardo Paganelli 0 (1 goal), Pierre Hamelin 2 (0), Ignacio Kennedy 5 (2) and Jeronimo Fanelli 5 (3) – bounced back in the last chukka and were close to send the match into OT.

Score Hamburg – Germany: 2-1, 3-2, 3-3, 6-3, 7-6.

MVP: Caesar Crasemann.
