Women’s polo continues to grow around the world. More and more tournaments are developing while many others have now become an established part of the international polo circuit. This year will mark the second time England will host the Victrix Ludorum, a series of six female tournaments for 18-goal teams (ladies handicap).

The opening tournament of this series will be the prestigious British Ladies Championship, which kicks off in Cowdray Park on July 13. The final will be held on Saturday, July 21 – the day before the King Power Gold Cup final. The most notable feature of the upcoming British Ladies Open is the number of teams registered to play. So far, nine have confirmed their participation, and a tenth team does not seem far off. Many of the most important female players are set to compete, including Hazel Jackson, Lía Salvo, Nina Clarkin, Candelaria Fernández Araujo and Mía Cambiaso.

After the beginning of the British Ladies Championship, the series will move to Knepp Castle and will come to an end in September at Guards Polo Club.
