It’s a wrap for the 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía. Following six thrilling weeks of polo, the 2024 edition of the most significant tournament in Sotogrande came to an end with the championship match of the much awaited high goal Turkish Airlines Gold Cup, that took place at Ayala Polo Club Los Pinos ground three, the clash between Facundo Pieres and Barto Castagnola, on Saturday August 31.

 

As expected, it was a very tough and hard fought contest, that showcased very balanced scores, with Barto Castagnola and Facundo Pieres commanding ATL and Calatagan, respectively. Barto produced thirteen goals, and it’s also worth to note that Antonio Heguy delivered a remarkable performance. Antonio tied the game and then put Calatagan back on the lead.

 

ATL managed to tie with minutes to go in the last chukka, until Santiago Laborde picked up the ball after the throw-in and sealed the deal, through a formidable backhander. for Calatagan, closing a fantastic year for the team in their first time playing high goal.
