And the second semifinal (or league decider) of the 131st. Argentine Polo Open Championship will see the derby of polo. No less than Ellerstina and La Dolfina will go head-to-head for a spot in the most awaited championship match of the year, following their wins against Cría La Dolfina and La Ensenada, respectively, on Sunday November 24.

Ellerstina and Cría La Dolfina opened fire on Sunday. Unlike in the first match of the Tortugas Open, this time La Z managed to work perfectly well to seized the reins from the start, led by their two commaning men, Gonzalito Pieres and Sapolo Caset, who delivered a remarkable performance, and produced a total of twelve goals between the two of them – six each. Playing at their highest, Ellerstina, who by the start of the last chukka had an impressive 13-6 lead, sealed the deal in that last episode, to claim the 15-9 win to earn a spot in the league decider.

La Dolfina Saudi and La Ensenada came up next. Although the Cañuelas-based foursome already knew they would play against Ellerstina for a spot in the final, they were eager to claim a victory over La Ensenada as well. The contest had a very leveled start, but from the second chukka onwards, La Dolfina Saudi overwhelmed La Ensenada, under the command of the merciless Pelón Stirling and Poroto Cambiaso. La Dolfina only took a little holiday in the sixth chukka, when they were outscored 3-1, but resumed their powerful playing in the two last chukkas. At the end of the day, La Dolfina defeated La Ensenada by an almost unexpected 20-7 score.
