The 131st. Argentine Polo Open Championship resumed on Sunday November 3, with two games and the debut of the two 40-goal forusomes, reigning champions, La Natividad, and La Dolfina, who were victorious over La Zeta Kazak and La Aguada, resepectively, the two teams who emerged from the qualification, to play the most significant tournament in the world.
In the opening game, La Dolfina Saudi and La Zeta Kazak played quite a close contest. La Zeta Kazak, under Nico Pieres’ command, displayed some good polo, with a two goal gap average between the two teams. The story changed in the fifth chukka, when La Dolfina Saudi bounced back – they outscored their contenders 5-1 and the scoreboard read a 12-6 lead for the Cambiasos & Co. who dominated the last three chukkas, leaving La Zeta Kazak scoreless. At the end of the day, La Dolfina Saudi claimed an impressive 21-7 win.
The follow-up saw the clash of the reigning champions, La Natividad, against the brand new La Aguada. Although the green jerseys dominated the first half, La Aguada managed to bounce back, especially in the third chukka, when they outscored La Natividad 4-0. However, and far from giving up, La Natividad made a comeback, and although La Aguada got better with every chukka, luck was on the Castagnola’s team side and were victorious 19-11. It’s worth to notice La Aguada’s 7-goaler Facundo Llosa remarkable performance in his debut in the Argentine Open, leading La Aguada as the top scorer.
