Following weekend delay, due to poor weather, the 130th. Argentine Open resumed on Monday November 13, with two League A matches. La Dolfina Saudi and La Hache La Roca were victorious over La Esquina and Cría La Dolfina, respectively.

In the opening game, current reigning champions, La Dolfina Saudi, clashed against La Esquina, the latter with Lerin Zubiaurre filling in for the injured Lucas James.

The match was an easy task for the Cambiasos lineup.  Juan Martín Nero opened the scores within 20 seconds in the game, and thoroghout the eight chukkas of play, La Dolfina Saudi seized the reins, reaching a commanding 11-1 by half time. Led by Adolfo Cambiaso and his son Poroto – they produced eighteen goals between the two of them, the match was a walk in the park for the Cañuelas-based foursome, who, at the end of the day, they claimed an impressive 22-7 win.

Later in the afternoon, La Hache La Roca and Cría La Dolfina went head-to-head in a much anticipated contest, not only because they were both undefeated, but also because the winner would meet La Dolfina Saudi in the league decider.

The match had five very tight five chukkas, with both teams coming and going, although with a slight advantage for the Lincoln-based lineup. Polito Pieres, back on the saddle after missing a couple of games due to an injury, was crucial – his performance was one of his best, and he was very accurate to produce goals either from the field or penalty conversions.

But things would change dramatically in the sixth chukka, when they outscored Cría La Dolfina 4-0. They did it again in the seventh chukka (2-0), and by the time to play the eighth and last chukka, La Hache La Roca were 15-8 ahead. Diego Cavanagh converted a 30-yards penalty in the last chukka, but the damage was already done. La Hache La Roca took home a remarkable 15-9 win, and will decide League A against La Dolfina Saudi for a spot in the championship match, on Saturday September 25.
