The final countdown to the championship match of the 129th. Hurlingham Open, the second leg of the much expected Argentine Triple Crown, will take place on Saturday October 22 and Sunday October 23, with two  thrilling games. The tournament will be back at “home”, the Hurlingham Club, after all the league stage took place at the AAP Headquarters, in Pilar

League A will be decided on Saturday between current title holders and recent winners of the Tortugas Open, La Natividad, and La Irenita Grand Champions. It will definetly be a very thrilling match to watch, not only because the Castagnolas & Co. are defending their title, but also because La Irenita Grand Champions have delivered a significant improvement in their performance thoroghout the Triple Crown up-to-date.

While Saturday’s winners will qualify to the final, things within League B are more complicated so far – the very much expected clash between La Dolfina Saudi vs. Ellerstina. The Cambiasos lineup remains undefeated and have indeed great chances to qualify to the final; instead, with regards to Ellerstina, they have to overcome last week’s big blow, when they lost to La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus, a defeat that brought enough drama to the League definition.

However, things are not said and done yet; following La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus’s victory against La Irenita GSquared on Friday, there are still a number of possibilities in terms of what could happen in League B:

If Ellerstina wins the match against La Dolfina, there will be a triple tie. In that case, League B will be decided as follows:

  1. Goals in favour scored in the games between the three teams. At the moment, La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus have +18, La Dolfina +15 and Ellerstina +11.
  2. Goal difference, both in favour and against, between the three teams.
  3. A draw involving the three teams to determine which one would be removed, and consider the match played between the two remaining lineups.

As a consequence, Ellerstina has to beat La Dolfina Saudi by 5 goals and score 7 more goals in favor to qualify to the final. La Ensenada RS Murus Sanctus need a win by Ellerstina, with the latter scoring more than 7 goals and no more than three by La Dolfina Saudi.

It is worth noting that if La Dolfina beat Ellerstina next Sunday, they will qualify to the final, no matter the result.
