La Irenita Grand Champions and La Natividad will go head-to-head for the first place in the final of the 129th Hurlingham Open following their respective wins against La Irenita Clinova and Cría La Dolfina at the AAP Heaquarters, in Pilar, on a very cold and rainy Saturday, October 15. The tournament sees eight teams, between 29 and 39 goals, compete.

In the first game, La Irenita Clinova got off to a better start. However, La Irenita Grand Champions, thanks to Pablo Mac Donough’s leadership and Juan Britos’ penalty conversions, bounced back in the third chukka. The team’s performance has improved throughout the season and they managed to dominate the match to claim a 13-8 win. La Irenita Grand Champions will now decide League A against La Natividad on Saturday, October 22, at Hurlingham Club.

Meanwhile, La Natividad and Cría La Dolfina played a very close match, with La Natividad only taking off in the last two chukkas when they were able to widen their advantage. As usual, Jeta Castagnola’s goals were crucial, and he linked up perfectly with Polito Pieres. The due scored all ten goals that lead to their 10-5 win. The match was fast paced and enjoyable, with only just a handful of fouls.
