Sowiniec Polo Cup set to shine in Europe

Six teams up to 7 goals will compete in the Sowiniec Polo Cup to be played at Sowiniec Polo Club, in Poland, approximately 300 km West of Warsaw, the country’s capital. The tournament is set to kick off on Thursday, July 30, and will run to Saturday, August 1, when a big closing party will follow the finals.

 

“Sowiniec is a private club, open for all those who want to play here during the season,” states the club representative. “We started in 2008 with an organisation set in Poland and Argentina as well, where we compete in important 16-goal tournaments. Sowiniec is enthusiastic about polo, and tries to contribute as much as possible to make polo grow in Poland, which is something that has been happening over the past few years.”

 

The facilities at the club include two full size grounds (270 x 150 metres), one arena ground (100 x 50 metres), an trot track for eight horses, training track, indoor grounds, and stables for 60 horses. The club currently owns 30 horses, and houses 20 horses owned by temporary members.

Regarding the club’s future plans,  they shared: “Our expectations are focused on the club’s growth, welcoming teams to come and enjoy the tournament. It is not always easy for patrons to come to Poland, because they can’t imagine what we are able to offer. But once they visit, they always come back. We are located less than three hours by car from Berlin, so that counts in our favour. In addition, the quality of our grounds is incredible, and it is difficult to find facilities of this level in other parts of Europe. Join us!”
