The Standard Chartered Dubai Gold Cup, pinnacle of the Dubai Gold Cup Series and the most important polo tournament in Asia and Middle East, came to an end on Friday at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
After an exciting final, UAE Polo claimed the championship for a second year in a row as Sheikha Maitha’s team beat AM UAE by 10 goals to 8. Sheikha Maitha and Tomás Panelo also won the title in 2019. This was the first Gold Cup title for Tomás Beresford and Benjamín Panelo.
Prior to the Standard Chartered Gold Cup final, Habtoor Polo defeated Abu Dhabi by 11 goals to 7 to win the Bentley Cup.
