Mt. Brilliant and La Indiana are the finalists of the 20-goal Joe Barry Cup, following their respective wins at International Polo Club Palm Beach.
La Indiana and Tonkawa faced each other first. By half time, the powerful Tonkawa foursome, who had a 3-0 record, had gained a 4-3 lead over La Indiana in the fourth chukker.
La Indiana managed to tie the match 4-all, but Tonkawa led by Sapo Caset, re-took the lead (6-4) halfway through the fifth chukker. However, La Indiana battled back and made a quick comeback, with Jeff Hall scoring twice to tie the match 6-all with only one chukker remaining.
It was Mike Azzaro who secured a 7-6 advantage for La Indiana early in the sixth; that was the kickoff to a fantastic last chukker for La Indiana. Michael Bickford and his boys overwhelmed Tonkawa with a display of fast, open polo. With goals by Azzaro, Colombres and Bickford, La Indiana had reached a solid 9-6 with 2:15 on the clock. It was left to Jeff Hall, who received a pass from Mike Azzaro, to seal the 10-6 win.

Next up, Mt. Brilliant and Grand Champions played a very tight game. It was a very close first half, and the game was tied at 6-all by the end of the third chukker. Both teams fought hard in the fourth, and as a result there was another tie (8-8). But Mt. Brilliant took an advantage in the fifth chukker; goals by Santiago Chavanne and Jason Crowder gave Bo Goodman's foursome a 10-8 advantage. Chavanne scored again for Mt. Brilliant early in the sixth chukker. Grand Champions struggled hard in an attempt to stay in the game. Nic Roldán (2) and Juancito Bollini both scored to cut the margin to one goal, 10-11. But their efforts didn't pay off, time ran out and Mt. Brilliant emerged as the winners.

The finals are due on Sunday, January 22. Villa del Lago and Coca-Cola will play the Subsidiary Bobby Barry Cup, followed by the final of the Joe Barry Cup, La Indiana vs. Mt. Brilliant, at 3pm.
