After playing the Grisogono Polo Master at Villa A Sesta Polo Club with his team, Kings Polo Team, Mohammed El Sewedy is focused on his polo project in Egypt, where he is building a big club with two polo fields. He spoke to Pololine after playing polo in Tuscany:

On playing the Grisogono Polo Master at Villa A Sesta: "It’s very interesting to play this tournament. This is our second time playing; last year we won the tournament, but this year we were not as lucky. But we learnt a lot for next time, and hopefully next year we’ll be the champions again."

On Villa A Sesta Polo Club: "I have been coming here for the last seven years. The club is improving year on year, the level of horse care here is very high, so all the horses can play at a high level. The fields are getting better year on year and they are even adding more fields. The level is improving and now very competitive. I enjoyed playing very much, and we’re looking forward to the upcoming tournament."

On his polo project in Egypt: "In Egypt now we are promoting the sport year on year and it’s getting better. Now we are building a big polo club (Kings Polo Club) right in the middle of the new city (New Cairo), which will be opened more or less in March. We’ll have two polo fields, one stick and ball ground, and the level that we can play there is up to 16 goals - a good level. To launch the project we did the beach polo event by the Red Sea last April. We did well in it and it was good marketing for us. Our next event, also by the beach, will be at the beginning of October. The club opening will be March, 2018.

On the Beach Polo tournament: "The beach polo tournament by the Red Sea took place at El Gouna, almost 30 km away from Hurghada (450 km away from Cairo); it is an unbelievable place."

On the season they will host in Egypt: "Now we are developing our season; October-November is for the local players. We will host one tournament at the beginning of October, so all the players who finish in Europe can go to Egypt; it's only a 3 hour flight, so we finish there at the beginning of October. Our main season, the long one, will be from the end of February till the beginning of May. This is when we play our 8, 10, 12 and 14 goal tournaments.”
