Intense and attractive polo took over Polo Park Zurich, in Switzerland, last weekend with the 13th Zurich Championship Medium Goal, one of the club's main tournaments. The competition, which was supported by Daniel Aegerter and the Polo Park, came to an end on Sunday.

The weekend started on Friday, with twenty enthusiastic people taking part in a polo introduction course. They finished just before the rain came down. But the sun came out on Saturday and the fields were in perfect condition for the Zurich Championship Medium Goal.

Even though it was 6-goal, it was widely commented that the level resembled 8-goal polo. Matches were fast, clean, with amazing runs and incredible goals. After Saturday's qualifications matches, Bethanien-Bentley and Los Lobos qualified for the final.

Sunday's finals began with a game for Third Place game, where Equilibrium, with Daniel Aegerter, beat Polo Park Zurich. Around midday, it was time for the great final. Both teams showed a very high level and kept everyone expectant until the last moment, when Facu Kelly, riding Gavilan, took the ball and scored the winning goal for Los Lobos, with only 10 seconds left on the clock.

Once prize giving had finished, players, families, friends and guests enjoyed the after polo and delighted in a delicious lunch by Razzia Catering. To finish the weekend, the club hosted its traditional new players training chukkas at 6pm.

Action at Polo Park Zurich resumes next weekend with the Kensington 20th Anniversary Polo Trophy.
