Coca Cola win 26-goal title

The final of the 26-goal Butler Handicap Cup between Coca Cola and Flex Jet took place today. The tournament is used as a warm up for the prestigious US Open, due to start on Wednesday, April 5, at International Polo Club Palm Beach. In the end Coca Cola claimed the Cup, defeating their rivals 12-9.

The Butler Handicap Cup, in memory of Paul Butler, is hosted by the USPA. Lat year it was played as part of the 20-goal season at Greenwich Polo Club. 

The first half of the match was very tight, but Coca Cola managed to maintain a slight advantage. By half time, Gillian Johnston's foursome had a narrow 6-5 lead over Melissa Ganzi's team, who were making their debut in the 2017 season.

Coca Cola took off in the fourth, displaying a strong team play which allowed them to dominate the match. Gillian Johnston led her team's attack and scored five goals. In Flex Jets, Gonzalito Pieres was the top scorer.

With only seven minutes remaining, Coca Cola had a 10-8 advantage. Gillian Johnston and Julio Arellano sealed the deal to claim the title.
