The fourth and final tournament of the Polo Challenge RD 2017 began on Saturday at Casa de Campo. Four teams up to 26 goals are in participation.

Lechuza Caracas and Cinque Terre kicked off the tournament. Both teams saw changes to their line-ups due to the handicap change (previous tournaments were 22-goals). Lalo James replaced Alfredo Vargas in Lechuza, while Cinque Terre now boasts Cubi Toccalino and Nacho Novillo Astrada (they replaced Juan Ambroggio and Toto Collardin).

The match got off to an even and open start, but came to a halt when Gonzalo Mendoza was forced to step in for an injured Alessandro Bazzoni. Thanks to goals from Pelon Stirling and Santi Toccalino, the first chukka finished 1-1. The second chukka couldn’t have been more different: Lechuza managed to impose their skills on their opponents and scored three goals. The chukka ended 5-3 in favor of the Venezuelan team.

The second half of the game was hard fought, and both teams gave their all in defence and attack. Backs Nacho Novillo Astrada and Juanma Nero found goal and defined the final score. Lechuza came out ahead, with a 8-5 victory.

Progression Lechuza: 1-1, 5-2, 5-3, 6-4, 7-4, 8-5.
Goals Lechuza: Pelon Stirling (4), Juan Martín Nero (3), Víctor Vargas (1).
Goals Cinque Terre: Santi Toccalino (2), Gonzalo Mendoza (1), Cubi Toccalino (1), Nacho Novillo Astrada (1).
